Before we started selling the TwinTec Block Salt Water Softener, all softeners sold in the UK were imported from either the United States or Europe. This meant that they had not been designed specifically with our water supply in mind, and some even required modifications to work properly.

Now, the TwinTec S3 water softener is a very different machine indeed. It is designed exclusively for the UK and the strict water regulations that apply here. This water softener also works with all plumbing installations found around the country. Its advanced metering can cope with everything from a dripping tap right up to Megaflow.

The TwinTec S3 water softener is unique. The underlying technology is so different from what has gone before, it has been awarded a patent - the first new patent applied to water softening apparatus in the last thirty years.

Parallel Flow for Maximum Efficiency.

Unlike some other softeners, TwinTec S3 water softener uses both cylinders at the same time, with one cylinder pausing only to regenerate while the other still softening. This gives a much better flow rate through the softener and it also means that one cylinder is not left sitting idle with static water in it between cycles.

The TwinTec S3 water softener cylinders have been engineered to use the entire resin bed to ensure you get 100% softened water 100% of the time.

Accurate Advanced Twin Metering.

The most critical aspect of a water softener is to measure exactly how much water passes through it, to determine when it should regenerate. Too much water will exhaust the resin bed and hard water could be let through, rendering the softener useless.

This is why we do not use turbine meters as they are just not accurate enough for low flow rates.The TwinTec S3 water softener uses the same metering technology found in the domestic water meters used to calculate your water bill, so you can bet they are accurate!

The meters in the TwinTec S3 water softener are so reliable that we actually use two of them, one to measure the quantity of water passing through the softener and one to ensure that we use exactly the correct amount of water to regenerate - not a drop more. Because of this the TwinTec S3 water softener can measure everything from a dripping tap right through to megaflow installations.

Adjustable Brine Valve.

Since different areas can have differing levels of hardness, the TwinTec S3 water softener has been designed to be optimised for every installation. The engineer can preset the softener to suit your usage reducing salt consumption and waste water to save you even more money!

Advanced Microfine Ion Exchange Resin.

Ion exchange resin is the heart of a water softener. Its job is to remove the calcium and magnesium ions from the water that cause limescale and scum.

The top picture shows the resin we use inside the TwinTec S3 water softener (10x magnification). Designed by Mitsubishi, it is the highest quality resin available, with superb uniformity of the beads, making it highly efficient.

And the bottom picture shows the resin used in some of our competitor's softeners. It's cheaper, less efficient and we don't go anywhere near it.
